Some members of the Glenmont Civic Association, Inc. met with Mr.David Brown of the law firm of
Knopf and Brown this Fall.. Mr. Brown  agreed to look into the planned garage on the west side of
Georgia Avenue.

After reviewing our files, he said it appeared Park and Planning had never approved the garage, stating
that he didn't see evidence of mandatory referral.  ("Mandatory Referral" is the process by which the
Planning Board approves projects--like garages--built by the County/Metro).
Anyway, he is keeping on top of things.  We will let you know if anything changes.

 One other
bit of news, it appears that the busway to Olney is one of the projects slated for "forward
funding" by the Council.  The Council held a hearing on forward funding on November 18 to discuss
transportation projects for the Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for fiscal years 2009-2014.  You can
access the schedule by going to montgomerycountymd.gov, clicking on the "council" button, and then on
"agendas" on the side. As of today, the transcripts of the Council session of November 18 are not online.
They should be online shortly.
