Budget Hearings
The Montgomery County Council is holding hearings on the 2007-2008 budget in April. This is a good opportunity to testify against
the new Metro garage in Glenmont. The hearings will be held at 7:00 p.m. on April 9, 10, 11, and 16 and also at 1:30 p.m. on April
11. The slots fill up quickly, so I would urge you to contact Delphine Harriston at 240 777-7961 to arrange a time to speak.
Despite efforts to make the community believe that the garage is a "done deal", we have been told that this is not the case. They
have to go back to the council for additional funds and some council members are trying to use this to reopen the whole issue. In
addition, we have been meeting with council members staff and have gotten some favorable responses to our position. Don't give up.
