    The Montgomery County Planning Board has scheduled a public hearing on the1200 car Metro garage
    DOT/WMATA has planned for the west side of Georgia Avenue in Glenmont. The hearing will be held Thursday,   
    April 8, 2010 at approximately 10:45 a.m. at the Park and Planning Auditorium, 8787 Georgia
    Avenue, Silver Spring, MD.  The entrance is at the rear of the building, and to your left as you enter.

    You may sign up to testify by calling 301 495-4600 giving the date, April 8, and the item #4 or sign up

    Agendas, click on the April 8, 2010 item.   That page gives you a link to the form to fill out.  Be sure you
    state Item # 4.  Please try to attend and bring friends and neighbors.
       
    Please speak against the garage being on the west side.  See the item below for reasons the garage          
    should not be on the west side in Glenmont.  

    Five Reasons Not to Build A West Side Garage -- On June 25, 2009, several members of the Glenmont
    Civic Association Incorporated, met with Dolly Kildee from Councilwoman Navarro's office to discuss our opposition
    to the planned Metro garage on the west side of Georgia Avenue.  

    Letter to County Executive Leggett April 17, 2009 -- Glenmont Civic Associatioon, Inc. (GCAI) counted
    empty parking spaces in Glenmont and Wheaton Metro garages and Wheaton Montgomery County garage. Updated
    recently, our survey reports that all three garages are under utilized. Not only is Glenmont garage not full., but there
    are over 1300 empty spaces in these three garages every day.
